Physical Abuse

Physical abuse can leave profound emotional and physical scars, impacting an individual’s overall well-being. Whether current or past, the trauma from physical abuse can affect relationships, self-esteem, and overall mental health.

In working with clients who have experienced physical abuse, my approach involves creating a safe space for open dialogue and healing. Through trauma-informed techniques, we address the emotional aftermath, develop coping strategies, and work towards rebuilding a sense of safety and empowerment.

Sexual Abuse

Sexual abuse is a deeply sensitive issue that can lead to long-lasting emotional distress and challenges in forming healthy relationships. The impact can extend beyond the initial trauma, affecting self-perception, trust, and intimacy.

Supporting survivors of sexual abuse involves fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship. Together, we navigate the healing journey, addressing the emotional and psychological effects. Integrating trauma-focused approaches, we work towards reclaiming a sense of autonomy, restoring self-worth, and fostering healthy connections.

Divorce

Divorce is a life-altering experience that often brings forth a whirlwind of emotions, including grief, loss, and uncertainty about the future. Navigating the complexities of divorce requires support in managing emotional challenges and adapting to a new life dynamic.

My work with clients going through divorce centers on providing empathetic guidance and a supportive space for emotional expression. Through therapeutic techniques tailored to the individual, we explore coping mechanisms, develop resilience, and focus on fostering a positive transition to a post-divorce life.

Death & Grief

Grieving the death of a loved one is a uniquely personal and often overwhelming experience. The emotional rollercoaster of grief can impact various aspects of life, making it crucial to address the mourning process with care and understanding.

When working with individuals dealing with death and grief, my approach is rooted in compassion and empathy. Together, we navigate the stages of mourning, allowing space for expression and healing. Integrating therapeutic tools, we work towards finding meaning, honoring memories, and rebuilding a sense of purpose.

PTSD & War

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can arise after exposure to a traumatic event, leading to persistent distressing symptoms that affect daily life. Understanding and managing these symptoms is crucial for individuals seeking to regain a sense of control and stability.

My work with clients experiencing PTSD involves a trauma-informed approach, emphasizing safety and gradual healing. Through evidence-based therapeutic modalities, we address and process traumatic memories, develop coping strategies, and work towards restoring a sense of balance and resilience.

Teen Issues

Teen’s issues can manifest in various ways, including defiance, withdrawal, or risky behavior. Addressing these challenges requires a comprehensive understanding of the underlying factors influencing a teen’s behavior.

Working with teens involves creating a non-judgmental and supportive environment. Through open communication and tailored interventions, we explore the root causes of behavioral issues. My goal is to empower teens to express themselves, develop coping skills, and build healthier relationships with both peers and family.

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)

Borderline Personality Disorder involves challenges in regulating emotions, forming stable relationships, and maintaining a consistent self-identity. Individuals with BPD may experience intense mood swings, impulsivity, and difficulty in managing interpersonal connections.

My approach to working with individuals with BPD is rooted in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and other evidence-based practices. Through skill-building, emotional regulation techniques, and a compassionate therapeutic alliance, we work towards enhancing coping mechanisms, fostering self-awareness, and improving overall well-being.

Family Members of Someone with BPD

Family members of individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder often face unique challenges in understanding and navigating the emotional intensity and relational dynamics associated with BPD.

Supporting family members involves providing education about BPD, fostering communication strategies, and offering a safe space to express emotions and concerns. Through a collaborative approach, we work towards enhancing family dynamics, setting healthy boundaries, and promoting overall family well-being.
